System Monitoring

Sycros monitors system parameters, processes, and log messages according to corresponding monitoring properties. The properties include Scheduling, Interval, Alert range, and others. Details are explained on subject web pages.
  • Parameter Monitoring

System parameters are defined for Windows and Unix family platforms. Classes of the default parameters are:

    Windows Unix
    CPU
    DISK
    Event
    Filesystem
    Log
    Memory
    Network
    Process

  • Process Monitoring

Number of active copies of identical processes is monitored. Name and location of each process are specified where the name and location can be expressed with regular expression for flexibility. When the number is out of range, alarm is triggered. The alarmed process can be killed or restarted using "reaction" feature.

  • Log Monitoring

Any log files from system, utility, and applications can be monitored. Name and location of each log files are specified with regular expression to accomodate changes. Log messages from system, utilities, and application are checked for alert texts. Entire message or specific fields are specified for the text search.

  • Definable Parameter

Parameters not included as default can easily be implemented. Add script or executable command at Parameter Management, then it becomes one of the parameters for monitor and display.
